Warbird aircraft in Australia are administered by the Australian Warbird Association. Military aircraft are designed and built to different specifications than commercial passenger carrying aircraft. In accordance with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) CAR 1988 262AM(5):

  • The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any standard recognised by CASA; and
  • CASA does not require the aircraft to be operated to the same degree of safety as an aircraft on a commercial passenger flight; and
  • the passenger flies in the aircraft at his or her own risk

This is the legal position, however, safety is our primary concern - followed by fun. Our aircraft are maintained to the same high standards as commercial passenger carrying aircraft.
